Better Than Real Life, 'Cause You Can Fly

Original Comics/Art

Original comics and art usually in tune with the anime/manga/gamer/comic etc. genre. For veterans and newbies alike; for those new to Japanese animation/comics and whatnot, go here for an introduction.

All comics stay mostly within PG-13 area and may feature adult jokes, satires, and/or dangerous situations that could result in severe injury or death in real life; please read with caution. (In other words, don't play around with drugs or jump off cliffs or anything.) ALWAYS surf from posted links with caution, though staff members try to provide some sort of warning if a link leads to particularly adult material.

The comics and art on this section of the website are original unless otherwise stated, and are copyright © Adamus Prime and Amethist Tomoe as specified. They are NOT to be used on any other website unless permission is requested and granted beforehand.

There are numerous examples of how amateur artists produce massively-popular comics without publishing companies behind them: doujinshi (fan comics) in Japan, webcomics holding solid pages on the Internet, fan artists online and at conventions selling their work to eager and impressed fans. Amateur/paper-unpublished art is a unique and remarkable sub-sect of the comic industry and currently enjoys a blooming popularity. Amethist Tomoe and Adamus Prime of Sleep is for the Weak are active members of this subculture, and these special pages will feature both their fanwork and their unique original art.

Oh, and please don't attempt the spectacularly poorly-thought-out schemes and accidents portrayed in the original comics. The staff is in enough trouble with the police as it is.

Amethist's work is a happy medium between shoujo (girls') and shounen (boys') comics, where the characters are sharp-lined and pretty and the wit is fast and random. Her current major project, now known simply as "Orpheus," is shaping up to be a very wicked piece indeed.

Adamus Prime's creativity and talent for the wacky is unmatched. His work has a finely-mixed Western/Eastern flavor to it, as punk-ska superheroes and evil pretty boys skip hand-in-hand in his comics. His major project, "Jukebox Heroes," has been in the works for years and is sure to please Western comics/alternative comics/Japanese comics fans on its rapidly-approaching debut.
